Pets can require emergency medical care at any time of the day or night. Our dedicated, compassionate veterinary team are here to help. When your pet encounters an emergency you want a veterinary team that is skilled, experienced and trustworthy – and most importantly, be open and available to provide the care you need, when you need it.

Our veterinary team is available to help you with any emergency your pet or large animal may experience. Please note: we have an on-call schedule with Peace River, Fairview, and High Prairie. If you have an emergency, you may be referred to one of these clinics. The veterinarian on call is prepared to provide the necessary care for any emergency you may be facing with your pet.

During our normal business hours, please call 780-836-3770 in advance (if possible) so we can prepare for your arrival. If you are experiencing a veterinary emergency outside our normal business hours, please call 780-624-1606 to receive assistance.

When To Seek Emergency Care

The easiest answer as to whether you should seek emergency care for your pet is when you feel his or her medical condition is serious and cannot wait. However, the following general situations should help you determine if you need to seek immediate emergency care:

– Difficulty breathing
– Acute abdominal swelling
– Electric shock
– Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
– Bleeding
– Exhibits symptoms of heat stroke
– Seizures
– Sudden onset of weakness
– High or low temperature (more than 104 or less than 100 degrees)
– Unable to urinate or defecate
